ABOUT THE ARTIST

"My pieces are strong in color and movement, yet possess a quiet sensitivity. I believe art is more than a final product...it is about creative feelings and emotions and should touch the soul"

Artist Susan Mauck describes her oil and pastel work as impressionistic with a contemporary edge.

Susan graduated from Indiana University, majoring in Art Education. She continued her education though art workshops and seminars of many well-known artists including William Ashby, C.W. Mundy, Alex Powers, Carolyn Anderson, and Richard Schmid.

Susan is a member and exhibitor in several art organizations, including Hoosier Salon, Indiana Heritage, Indiana Artists Club, IPAPA, Drawn to Dance, and the Stutz Artists Association.

The artist has recently moved to the Carmel Arts and Design district, where she works as an artist and art consultant for many interior designers. The award-winning artist also maintains a studio in the historic Stutz Business Building in downtown Indy.

Susan is on the faculty of the Indianapolis Art Center, and teaches life drawing at Park Tudor School.

The artist's work, including portraiture, figure, and landscapes may be seen by appointment at her studio downtown. You can view samples of her work here on her website in the meantime...enjoy!
